WHY USE Blue Sky Adventures TO DO WHAT YOU THINK YOU CAN DO YOURSELF?

  1.    Stay in accommodations that you know are nice, safe and in a good area of town. Treat yourself and make your overnight stay something special at UCCS which has an indoor pool, basketball, and 12 foot bouldering wall.  There is also a computer/tv room and laundry facility and the kids get to see a college campus.

  2.     Be with other Scouts from all over the country going to Philmont

  3.     Be with the leader in scout travel, Blue Sky Adventures, and have confidence that all reservations will be as promised. We are dependable, reliable and very experienced. We are also there to support you when problems occur like lost luggage and participants who need medical attention while traveling.

  4.     Our program is all-inclusive—your fee to us includes all transportation, taxes, gratuities, meals and accommodations as specified. You only deal with us to confirm your trip and have no worries and no surprises.

What can go wrong if you set this trip up yourself??? LOTS and trust us on this!!!!

We see disasters everyday that happen to groups that set the trip up themselves only to find out they didn’t consider all the costs nor did they truly understand what they were getting. Here are some examples of things that usually go wrong---

  1.     Hotel not in a safe area of town and scouts spread out in rooms all over the hotel. Hotel does not provide security. No where close by to eat dinner.

  2.     Hotel rooms not ready upon arrival if arriving earlier than 3:00p.m.

  3.     Nothing to do at the hotel and Scouts get bored and behavior problems occur —remember, the pool is only good for an hour or two!

  4.     Out of pocket cost usually way underestimated

  5.     Vehicle does not show up on time for airport pick up or transport to and from Philmont. Every year several groups get stuck at Philmont when the vehicle doesn’t show up to pick them up when the group expected it to!!! We also see groups sitting in the airport for hours waiting for the hotel shuttle or the bus company hired to pick them up—no way to start your trip and no fun at all!!

  6.     Cost of hotel more than anticipated when taxes and extra occupant charges are added

  7.     Hotel continental breakfast not up to your expectations
