General Frequently Asked Questions

Are your trips all-inclusive?

Yes! You never have to open your wallet unless you want a souvenir! Our price includes your tour guide, all meals, ground transportation, accommodations, event and wait staff gratuities, activities and entry fees. The only extra you need to consider is a tip for your tour guide. While it isn’t required, most groups do tip their tour guide as they feel the experience was so good that a gratuity is warranted.

What About Airfare?

We recommend you use a travel agent who is familiar with Scout/youth group airline travel. There are lots of pitfalls when trying to book flights for groups so make sure you use someone who is familiar with airline industry practices.

One of the biggest mistakes people make when planning a High Adventure trip is using internet ticket prices as a guide for what they will pay for a group.  THIS IS A MISTAKE! As a group, you will pay as much as $100 to $200 more than prices found on the internet which are for individual travelers only.

If you don’t have a travel agent, we recommend Lisa Blomberg at Frosch Travel.  Lisa has been working with our groups for over 10 years.  She is also the proud mom of an Eagle Scout!

Why should I hire you instead of doing this myself?

Blue Sky Adventures is the recognized leader in Scout travel.  We have served over 50,000 people since 2002 and our trips get better every year.  Our team of bus drivers, tour guides, lodging partners, and food vendors are committed to providing you the best possible experience at a reasonable price.

Every year, we see and hear about groups that have a disastrous High Adventure experience because they tried to do this trip themselves.  Flight delays, bus breakdowns, buses that don’t show up, hotels that are not Scout friendly or in a bad area of town, unexpected expenses, and the list goes on. Don’t put your trip at risk.  We have a product for every budget and we promise that you will leave town feeling that you got more than you paid for!

Should I Ship our Backpacks to you?

No, no, no!!!  We do not have anywhere to store your backpacks so please don’t ship them to us or to the hotel we use. Besides, don’t waste your money. Last year we handled almost 4,500 packs and less than 13 were lost by the airlines. Of those 13, we got 11 back the same day and the other 2 the next day.

What do I do if  I lost an item while on tour with Blue Sky?

The sooner you let us know about a lost item, the more likely we are able to return the item. We will do our best to locate and return any lost items. However, it may take several days to locate items and then several more to get the item to its proper owner. We are not responsible for lost items that we are unable to locate. “
