Florida Keys Island Adventure Itinerary
Monday
- Mid day rendezvous with your Blue Sky Adventures professional tour guide at a South Florida airport.
- Lunch
- Head for the Florida Keys! Along the way, we will visit an alligator farm on the edge of the Florida Everglades where we will see thousands of alligators, a snake and alligator show and take an exhilarating ride on an airboat. Racing across a sea of grass in only a few inches of water, this is a ride you are not likely to forget

- Arrive at the Florida Sea Base Brinton Environmental Center on Summerland Key in the Florida Keys. Accommodations in an air conditioned dormitory/bunkhouse setting.
- Dinner in the dining hall.
- After dinner, you will talk about your itinerary for the upcoming week and watch a slide show, which describes those underwater creatures to both enjoy and avoid, as well as snapshots of some of the fun you will be having during the upcoming week.
- Spend the rest of the evening getting settled, exploring the island setting and playing volley ball, basketball and board games.
Tuesday
- Breakfast in the dining hall

- Spend the morning snorkeling at Looe Key National Marine Sanctuary, a pristine living coral reef in the Florida Keys. You will ride to the reef, located about 5 miles offshore, on a 50 foot boat. Snorkeling gear and instruction are provided.
- After snorkeling you will be dropped off at Big Munson Key, a remote native island made up of hardwood hammocks and mangroves and home to a herd of Florida Key Deer (miniature deer). You will kayak through the mangrove ecosystem and spend the rest of the day exploring the island and relaxing before a return boat ride to Brinton.
- Dinner in the dining hall.
- Evening spent relaxing or fishing on one of the abandoned overseas highway bridges.
Wednesday
- Breakfast in the dining hall.
- Board a 25 foot long Dusky sport fishing vessel for a half day of Reef Fishing in the Atlantic Ocean!
- Lunch of sandwiches, chips, and fresh fruit on the boat!
- Return to Brinton for lunch in the dining hall
- Clean up, and get ready for Key West.
- In the late afternoon we take off for Key West, a city rich with history and known for its unique culture and style. You will start at the Southernmost Point in the United States and walk down famous Duval Street in this historic city, known for pirates, smugglers and treasure hunters.
- Your day in Key West ends at the Mallory Square Sunset Celebration -there’s nothing like it! You will see numerous street performers, including jugglers, magicians, sword swallowers, flame eaters and flying cats!
- Dinner at a wonderfully authentic Cuban restaurant just steps away from Mallory Square.
- Return to the Florida Sea Base.
Thursday
- Today we visit historic Fort Jefferson, a Civil War fort located in the middle of the ocean 68 miles off Key West in the Dry Tortuga Islands. After your ride on a 100 foot hydrofoil boat at speeds up to 35 MPH to get to the fort, you will learn why this 20 acre island was the most important piece of real estate in North America in the 1800’s. You will also swim, snorkel and sunbathe on one of the most pristine beaches in the United States.


- A picnic lunch will be served on the island.
- Return to the Florida Sea Base for dinner and accommodations.
Friday

- Breakfast in the dining hall
- Transportation to South Florida airport for departure home
